Car Rentals Conditions
Reservation - Reservation is confirmed for car class or similar car model.
Documents - at pick-up the client shall submit his/her passport and driver's license, photocopies of which shall be attached to the original of the rental agreement.
Rental period - Minimal rental period is 24 hours. If vehicle return time is delayed for 2 hours additional rental charge will be applied.
Age restrictions - Rental car can be driven by a person who has driving experience of no less than 2 years. Minimum age required for Minibuses(full-size) is 23 years.
Vehicle condition - The vehicle is delivered to the Lessee in good overall condition and without apparent defects and any complaints as to its condition must be made to Baltic Lines immediately upon receiving the vehicle and before leaving the parking area or nearly from the parking area.
Damage, Loss, Theft etc. - In the event of damages to or loss or theft of the vehicle or its parts, including fire and breakage of glass, the Lessee shall, irrespective of the Lessee's or driver's fault, pay Baltic Lines the amount of all resulting loss and expenses of Baltic Lines.
Insurance - The rented vehicle is covered by third party liability insurance (OCTA) according to the Compulsory Third Party Liability Insurance and by voluntary insurance (CASCO) according to the Voluntary Liability Insurance for Inland Motor Vehicle Owners.
Loss and Damage Waiver - The Lessee's liability in case of damages of the vehicle or its parts can be reduced if the Lessee accepts Loss and Damage Waiver (LDW) by signing of the Rental Agreement.
By signing of this agreement, the Lessee's liability in case of Loos or Damage is minimized till:
All class except minivans and minibuss: 300,- LVL;
Minivans and Minibuss: 900,- LVL.
Liability for damages to interior and interior accessories, to theft or to complete crash of the rented vehicle can not be waived.
Super Loss and Damage Waiver - The Lessee's liability in case of damages to the rented vehicle and its parts can be fully waived if the Lessee accepts Super Loss and Damage Waiver (SLDW) by signing of the Rental Agreement.
SLDW charges daily:
All class except minivans and minibuss: 8,- LVL;
Minivans and Minibuss: 10,- LVL.
Liability for damages to interior and interior accessories, to theft or to complete crash of the rented vehicle can not be waived.
Rental charges - The Lessee agrees to pay rental charges according to the current tariffs of Baltic Lines that are valid at the time this agreement is signed. By signing Rental Agreement Lessee acknowledges being acquainted with the current tariffs of Baltic Lines.
Deposit - If the rental period starts after 1 month or more from the moment when reservation is made, 10% of total amount will be charged from the credit card for the confirmation, rest of total amount will be charged at arrival. In any other case, no deposit before.
Method of Payment - Payment for service are possible make with all major credit cards  ,
payment transfer or cash (for first client only).
Late hours pick up/drop-off - Late hours vehicle pick up or drop-off is available for free of charge, before arrange with Agent of Baltic Lines.
Additional driver - Free of charge for 1(one) additional driver.
Global Positioning System (GPS) - GPS Navigation system can be added to your rental only for 3.00 LVL par day or maximum 50 LVL per rental.
Child seats - Infant seat (suitable for children up to 12 months); Child seat (suitable for children from 1 to 4 years); Booster seat (suitable for children from 4 to 12 years): 3,- LVL par day or maximum 30,- LVL per rental. Penalty fee in case of loss 50,- LVL;
One-way rental - Renting a vehicle from Baltic Lines you can return it in Lithuania or Estonia only for 80,- LVL per service or in any city in Latvia, for extra fee from 20,- LVL till 40,- LVL. Warsaw (Poland) for extra fee 350,- LVL. One - way rentals are possible prior authorisation of Baltic Lines.
Fuel - Baltic Lines rents a vehicle with a full fuel tank. Lessee returns vehicle with a full fuel tank. If vehicle is not filled up with fuel before return, for each missing litre 1.00 LVL will be charged according to the Baltic Lines refuelling prices.
Winter season - According to the Latvian traffic obligations from December 1st till March 1st all Baltic Lines vehicles are fitted with winter tyres.
Driving restrictions - Driving with Baltic Lines vehicles is allowed in the territory of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. For driving outside of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Baltic Lines permission is required.
Penalties - In case of lost car documents or/and car keys Lessee will be charged up to 300.00 LVL for costs and administration of renewal of registration documents and/or car keys. Tickets, parking fines and any other administrative sanctions resulting from violation of the Traffic Law during rental period are absorbed solely by Lessee. Additional administration handling fee of 50.00 LVL per ticket will be charged.
Conditions of Use - The Lessee is expected to look after the vehicle as a decent and careful owner, particularly making sure that the vehicle is not used as follows: To carry persons or property for hire; To propel or tow any vehicle, trailer or other objects; In any race, test or contest or training/preparing for such events. When leaving the rented vehicle, the Lessee is fully responsible for locking the doors, closing windows and activating alarm system, as well as not leaving in the vehicle its registration documents, keys and alarm remote. The Lessee/driver of the rented vehicle must comply with the relevant European Union's country's regulations regarding driving under influence of alcohol and other intoxicating substances; comply with traffic regulations or other legal regulations; it is forbidden to hand over the rented vehicle to a third person unless this person is registered as an additional driver on the rental agreement.
Baltic Lines agent - If pick-up address is at Airport, Baltic Lines agent will be waiting for You on pick-up date at arrival time in arrival hall of the Airport with Your name on the board: Mr/Mrs Name Surname. Liability of Baltic Lines - Baltic Lines is liable only for loss or damage caused to the Lessee or a third party connected with rental or usage of rented vehicle if such loss or damage was caused by the Baltic Lines's deliberate gross negligence.
